For his most ambitious and complex work, the international artist Paolo Nicolai chose to celebrate the myth of Medusa, seen from the perspective of the priestess transformed into a monster.

Taking inspiration from Benvenuto Cellini’s Perseus with the Head of Medusa, the facial features were softened and the eyes opened—Medusa is alive!

Once the digital sculpting phase was completed, a 3D-printed model of the face followed: over 90 cm tall and weighing 15 kg, it served as the mannequin for creating the final artwork.

The final sculpture is temporarily on display at the Waterfront in Marina di Carrara, before being exhibited in galleries in Dubai, New York, Boston, Forte dei Marmi, and London.
